Summer Reading
Summer Reading for Grades 1-8
Dear Parents and Students,
Our summer reading program for grades 1-8 is voluntary. Some of you asked for summer reading lists. There are many on the internet that school librarians across the United States have posted. I am including some of the titles from Capitol Hill Day School in Washington, DC.
Summer can be a good time to let children explore subjects which have high interest to them. I suggest you do some reading with your child and let them do some independent reading depending on the level that they currently are reading.
I suggest if your child is in fourth grade or above, you have him record his titles and write a brief summary of the plot if it is a fiction book and write a list of facts if it is a non-fiction book.
Thank you very much.
